In a Room

Dodgy

‘In a room there’s no other faces,
Don’t know why I’m feeling like this’

This is another song I first heard when I was in high school, and still really like today. Dodgy as a group somehow remind me of summer, the songs by and large, that I’ve heard have a optimism to them. However this one, to judge by the lyrics is more about loneliness and locking yourself away from other people in your life.

It’s inspired a character within my novel ‘The Outsider’, named Elizabeth, as she always feels as though she’s on the outside looking in, and particularly came to life when I relistened to the song this year, and heard these lines ‘She lies sleeping in a half filled bed, her eyes No longer study her emptiness’
